A World of Creativity is a special interview series within Enhancing the Human Experience co-hosted by myself and Mark Stinson. In this series, we talk with successful people from around the globe to find out how they get inspired, where their ideas come from, and how they apply creativity in their business and personal lives. Scroll to the end of this post to listen to prior episodes in this series.

Our guest this week is Sherri Talley.

Sherri is a former broadcast journalist and evening news anchor with over 30 years experience.

Creativity is something Sherri is very familiar with, as she comes from a creative family.

Her aunt, artist and country/folk songwriter Susanna Clark, was recently inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association Hall of Fame.

In this interview Sherri talks about her own creative endeavors as well as her close relationship with Susanna and a new project she’s working on to honor Susanna and her work.

In this episode, you’ll discover:

  • How being your authentic self can help you connect with your audience
  • Why continually reinventing yourself is so important and so much fun
  • The role courage plays in the life of a creative person
  • The value of letting your ideas incubate
  • The inspiration Sherri finds living on and exploring the Florida island she and her husband call home
  • The joy and creative inspiration she receives from spending time in nature and photographing wildlife
  • How spending time by herself and having a routine is comforting to her
  • Her journey into the healing arts
