“You make yourself and others suffer just as much when you take offense as when you give offense.” ~Key Keyes Jr.
Ken Keyes Jr. is a personal development dynamo.
His books are chock-full of powerful insights, wisdom, and knowledge for enhancing the human experience.
The wisdom I share in this video can have a profound effect on all of your relationships.
It’s based on the idea that all of us are really living under the veil of Maya, or the illusion of separateness.
This causes us to believe that we need to defend our position in life against everyone else.
The reality is however, that there’s really only one consciousness manifesting itself as many people.
So there is no separation.
With this in mind, taking offense when someone says or does something unpleasant to you, is just as harmful to your spiritual evolution, as it is to the other persons.
Keep in mind, this isn’t about allowing someone to take advantage of you.
What it means, is that you’re better off (and you help to create a better world) if you don’t take offense to what anyone else says or does. Take care of yourself and protect yourself, but don’t take anything anyone else says or does to you as a personal attack toward you.
