Are you at a crossroads in life, either personally or professionally? Maybe you just feel stuck and you’re looking for a little guidance as to what you should do next. This is all too common. As we move through life, we all face this type of scenario (and for most of us, it happens frequently). Knowing how to handle it – and how to ask for guidance – is critical to our continuing success and happiness.
The guidance I’m referring to is asking your intuition for a message or a clue as to what you should be doing. As woo-woo as it sounds, some of the most successful people in the world consult their intuition on a regular basis to help them navigate their personal and professional lives.

Show Notes
Why your mind can’t be trusted to give you the guidance you need and want:
- Because the mind is a tool: It’s an extraordinary tool, but a tool nonetheless. Our mind (both the conscious and subconscious components) simply wasn’t designed to give us the kind of guidance we need in life. It was designed to help us solve problems. It’s great at this type of task. Give it a problem, and it goes to work on finding solutions. But for guidance, we really need to consult something with a much broader perspective — own intuition.
- The mind has limited knowledge and understanding: It just doesn’t have all the information, like our intuition has. If we trust it for guidance, we’re opening ourselves up to the potential to get things wrong — REALLY wrong. It’s just not reliable for this type of task.
- The mind is prone to conformity: It doesn’t think outside the box very well. It’s conditioned to help us fit in. To seek (and get) the approval of others. It has a me-too mentality. All of this is driven by the ego’s need to get along. All of these attributes of our mind are poor for helping us to find meaning in life and express our higher purpose.
- It’s fickle: It’s prone to bounce all over the place. The mind would have us jump from the latest trend to next hottest thing, over and over again, if we didn’t step in with our higher selves and put a stop to it.
- We can’t solve a problem at the same level of consciousness that created it: Einstein’s famous statement regarding this idea can help us understand that the answer’s to the problems we face have to come from somewhere outside of us. The answers we want really have to come from a Divine source. Otherwise, we are destined to re-create the same scenario over and over again.
To get ahead in business and in life we have to ditch the “follow the leader mentality”, and forge our own path. For that to happen we need to consult the cosmic trail guide within us (our own intuition).
How to ask your intuition for guidance:
- Ask good questions: When you ask the right question, you get the right answer. So, spend some time developing good questions. The better the question, the better the answer. Shoot for questions that get right to the heart of what you want to know.
- If you don’t know what to ask, start there. Use your intuition to help you develop good questions. Remember, it can meet you anywhere along the path and give you guidance. As you keep asking questions, the stepping stones to your desired outcome will keep emerging as you need them.
- Remain open and receptive to answers and clues from any channel. Now, the answer you’re seeking may not come to you via e-mail or text message, but it will come to you in some way. It could be a chance encounter. A friend or business colleague may call you out of the blue. Or, you’ll run across a helpful book. The point is, something will come into your life that will help you with whatever it is you’re struggling with. The answer often comes to you as a feeling or a hunch.
One Sentence Summary:
To ensure you’re on the right track in life, both personally and professionally, frequently ask for guidance from your intuition.
Quote of the Week:
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” ~ Albert Einstein
