As you may know, I recently opened an online store that offers products and apparel with a lot of the messages I talk about here on the show and in my books.
It’s been a lot of fun (and also challenging) getting this online store up and running.
When it came to choosing a name for the store, I spent quite a lot of time contemplating what to call it.
In the end I had settled on Enhancing the Human Experience Store, which worked just fine, since it was aligned with the podcast and already had some momentum.
But after seeing the finished store up and running, I’ve decided to change the name.
Sometimes the only way to know if something we’re thinking of doing is going to work or not is to go ahead and do it and then step back and see what it looks like.
When I did that with the store, I realized the name wasn’t quite the right fit for what I want to build.
I’m still excited about the products and apparel however, nothing will change there.
Everything will still be designed and curated especially for conscious creators just like you.
I’m talking about apparel and products you’ll not only want to wear and use, but things that will also remind you of your ability to consciously create and live your very best life.
A big part of why this happened was due to my own fear of playing bigger and allowing myself to create without permission.
So, yesterday I set about changing the name of the store to simply gmp.
In doing this, I’m laying the foundation to introduce and grow a line of products and apparel that is an expression of who I am and what I feel is important to share with the world.
Needless to say, doing this is a bit scary.
But, in the words of Mr. Jack Canfield, “Oh, what the heck, do it anyway.”
I actually had toyed with doing this during the initial development phase of the store, but I dismissed it for reasons I talk about in this episode (primarily revolving around self-worth and self-readiness issues–bogus, I know).
So in today’s episode, I share my experience with this change in the hopes that by sharing it, you might avoid something similar in your own business and life.
Ultimately, it’s a story about doing what we want to do whether we feel we’ve earned the right to do it or not.
It’s also about making the often courageous decision to “live in the end”, as Neville Goddard suggests, when it comes to designing and building the life we want to live.
