Wealth and prosperity are topics I’ll be writing a lot about on this blog.
As with everything we experience in life, prosperity begins within–with our thinking.
And, like everything in life, realizing more prosperity is the result of bringing into play all three aspects of ourselves; mind (intellectual), body (physical) and spirit (ethereal).
When these three components are fully aligned and supportive of prosperity, we’ll have this condition in our lives.
Before I go further, let’s take a look at the definition of prosperity.
pros•per•i•ty
:the condition of being successful or thriving; especially: economic well-being
We’re here to overcome limited fixed thinking, and condition ourselves to realize greater and greater levels of success.
In short, we’re here to thrive!
To do this we must first take control of our own thinking, and focus 100% of our attention on what’s possible for us, and not what we currently have.
This is the essence of personal growth & development.
This is the primary task of every human being.
I’m currently reading Thou Shall Prosper: Ten Commandments For Making Money, by Rabbi Daniel Lapin
I want to share a passage from this book with you.
It illustrates the dual nature of man.
Through this passage we clearly see that no one keeps prosperity from us.
If we don’t have the prosperity we want in life, it’s we ourselves that are to blame.
Knowing this, in my opinion, is 99% of what it takes to win in the game of life.
The prosperity we want is available to us, and we can realize it by developing self-mastery.
Then we simply go about doing the inner and outer work necessary. Each of us holds the key to realizing more prosperity in life.
Here it is…
You can be your own worst enemy, but you can also be your own best employee. Remember to see yourself as two people. One of you is all wise, all rational, and always dedicated to the long-term good. The other one of you tries to talk you into short-term delights. You are the Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket wrapped up in one human body. One part of you is encouraging you to act with self-restraint and courage. At exactly the same moment, the second part of your makeup is feverishly trying to persuade you to do what you really feel like doing. The only question is, “Who is going to lead?
~Rabbi Daniel Lapin
This passage gives us great insight into what’s going on inside of us.
I like this idea so much that I’ve built this question into my morning ritual, and at the beginning of every day I ask myself, “Who is going to lead?”
Asking myself this question puts me in the right state of mind for the day ahead.
A day where I know I’ll be tempted to indulge in the short-term delights Rabbi Lapin talks about.
But that’s ok.
Because I’m mentally prepared for those temptations. And I know you’ll be too.
Wishing you much prosperity,
Mark
